Internet Explorer 7

Microsoft has decided to make the new Internet Explorer 7 part of the automatic update process.

This page describes the configuration settings you need to apply to enable all features of emagiC CMS when using Internet Explorer 7.

Remark that, for using Internet Explorer 7, you need emagiC CMS.Net v3.0 SP1 (or later) or emagiC CMS (ASP) v5.0 (or later).



In the Internet Explorer browser go to Tools > Internet Options....  The internet options dialog box appears.

  1. Select the first tab General.

    Choose Browsing history > Settings.

    Check Every time I visit the webpage and click OK to save your changes.  This ensures that you will always see the latest version of a page in the administration interface.

  2. Select the second tab Security.  Select Trusted sites and press the Sites button.

    Enter the url of the administration interface (i.e. emagiCCMSDemoAdmin for the administration of the demo website or, as an example, http://admin.myCompany.com for the administration of your company website).  Uncheck the https box in the bottom if you do not use a secure communication.
    Press the Add button to add the administration interface to the trusted sites.

    Press Close to save your changes.

  3. While still having the Trusted sites selected, press the Custom level... button to change the security settings for the trusted sites.

    Following settings are needed besides the Medium (default) settings:

    Miscellaneous > Allow websites to open windows without address or status bar : enable
    Miscellaneous > Use Phishing Filter : disable
    Miscellaneous > Use Pop-up Blocker : disable
    Scripting > Allow programmatic clipboard acces : enable

    Setup 6

    Press OK to save your changes.

  4. Restart Internet Explorer.
